This is a benchmark for sophisticated Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. The still-youthful, layered aromas include cola, black and red cherry, plum, cracked pepper, beetroot, mocha and smoke. It's dry, with an elegant medium-bodied frame, well-integrated alcohol, bright acidity and refined tannins providing structure. The flavours echo the nose and the finish is incredibly lengthy. Delicious now, this is sure to evolve beautifully over the next 5-10 years. (VINTAGES panel, June 2012)
