I first encountered this terrific chardonnay in a blind tasting at the Experts Tasting at Cuvee 2011 where it aced the competition. It is a very stylish, lean, classic mineral driven wine from a vineyard high on the Escarpment owned by Malivoire winemaker Shiraz Mottiar. Look for fresh apple-pear stone fruit aromas with classic almond, peat and gentle spice. It's slim but packed with flavour, with a tight, tart, stony finish. Excellent length. Great now, through 2015, maybe longer. Tasted April 2011. Score - 92. (David Lawrason, winealign.com, April 27, 2011)
