Tasting Notes |
---|
Also brilliant and a mostly destemmed blend of 55% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 15% Mourvedre that's aged 75% in barrel, the Patrick Lesec 2011 Chateauneuf du Pape Bargeton is more compact and concentrated than the Les Galets Blonds. It possesses notions of dark fruits, rosemary, earth and hints of oak, as well as a full-bodied, deep and decadent palate feel that remains remarkably fresh and elegant. Made in a more serious, reserved style, it should benefit from another year or two in the cellar and have a solid 10-12 years of overall longevity. Impressive stuff, especially in the vintage. Drink 2015-2023. Score - 93. (Jeb Dunnuck, erobertparker.com, Oct. 2013)
