Description
'Ironstone Vineyards produced its Reserve Chardonnay from grapes grown in our mountain vineyards located in the Sierra Foothills. These prime Chardonnay clusters are hand selected for their outstanding quality and then experience a gentle, whole-cluster pressing. The wine is aged 'sur lie' in new French oak barrels that are hand stirred weekly for the initial four months of the aging process. This process causes the wine to undergo spontaneous malolactic fermentation.' (ironstonevineyards.com) The result is a full-bodied Chard with generous fruit and complementary oak, making this an ideal match for planked salmon steaks.
