Tasting Notes
The 2008 Chianti Classico Riserva Petresco is striking. Dark cherries, tar, licorice and underbrush are some of the many notes that emerge from this fleshy, dynamic Riserva. The 2008 impresses for its density and juiciness, all while maintaining plenty of vintage 2008 focus. This is a hugely impressive showing. The Petresco spent 18 months in French oak barrels, all of which it handled beautifully. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2023. Score - 93+. (Antonio Galloni, erobertparker.com, June 2012)
