Tasting Notes
The scion of a respected Burgundian family with old roots, the family-owned Daniel Rion estate was founded in 1995 with only two hectares; it now encompasses eighteen hectares in eighteen different appellations. This wine has a complex nose featuring dark cherry, beetroot, nuts and toasty vanilla. The berry-laden palate is dry and beautifully structured, with excellent supporting oak. There is a nice focused acidity here that completes the package wonderfully. Perfect for seared duck breast, pork chops, or veal cutlets. (VINTAGES panel, July 2010)
