TASTING NOTE: Showing a Sauternes-style richness, the 2008 vintage of this estate-grown, Waihopai Valley beauty is a blend of 58% tank-fermented Riesling and 42% barrel-fermented Sauvignon Blanc, hand-picked between early May and mid-June at an average of 45 brix [point of comparision, Ontario Icewine is usually picked at 36 brix]. Pale gold, it is very fresh and vibrant, with impressively concentrated, honey-sweet flavours, showing lovely harmony and depth.
