Tasting Notes
The finest wine I have ever tasted from this 10-acre Fronsac vineyard, the 2008 Carlmagnus, 100% Merlot, was cropped at 30 hectoliters per hectare. It possesses sumptuous berry fruit interwoven with notes of spring flowers, crushed rock, and background oak. Concentrated and dense, with sweet tannins as well as wonderful freshness and liveliness, it should drink well for at least a decade. Score - (89-91).
