Description
This was a Gold Medal Winner at the 2010 US National Sake Appraisal. The term 'Tokubetsu' translates to 'Special' and in this instance indicates that the Rice Polishing Ratio is higher than the minimum 70% required to qualify for the Junmai classification - in this case 60%.

Tasting Notes
Clear with a nickel cast. Aromas of whole pineapple, wintergreen and Asian pear with a soft, silky dryish medium body and a long, graceful earthy sweet potato and jicama accented finish. A vibrant, elegant sake that will be great with tempura. Exceptional. Score - 92. (tastings.com, June 23, 2011)
