De Martino was selected as Winery of the Year for 2011 by the Wines of Chile Association. The winery is certified Carbon Neutral.
Tasting Notes
De Martino is one of the leading and most innovative smaller family producers in Chile, if over 500 acres of organically tended vineyards in central Maipo makes them 'smaller'. This pours very dark ruby-black. It has a ripe cassis, herbs and chocolate nose with some meaty character. It's full bodied, fairly dense and well balanced, with some green caper, herbs and chocolate. Quite thick and dense, with excellent length. Approachable now; should hold for five years at least.
