Tasty, maturing wine from the great 2005 vintage. Medium deep ruby/garnet colour with aromas of spun sugar, blackberry creme, shoe leather, blueberry, woodsmoke and chocolate. Dry and rounding out in its fruitiness, but still very well-structured. Elegant and yet also quite ripe and concentrated. Good poise. Enjoy it tonight with grilled Angus beef steaks, or, if you must, cellar it 2-3 years. (VINTAGES panel, Sept. 2011)
