The 2002 Grenache Prodigal comes from dry farmed Grenache vines averaging 45-65 years of age. There are 1,000 cases of this splendid effort, which Kevin Mitchell told me was the 'best I have made.' Sweet kirsch liqueur aromas intertwined with hints of raspberries, dusty loamy soil, licorice, and pepper jump from this rich, full-bodied, expansively flavored, pure, authentic Grenache.
