Tasting Notes
The forwardly fruity and (at 54 grams residual sugar) unapologetically sweet Schonborn 2009 Johannisberger Klaus Riesling Kabinett relies on lemony tartness and stony underpinnings to rein in its sucrosity, though the result is a bit inharmonious. That said, there is snap and energy here as well as impressive sheer length, and it should be interesting to revisit this wine in a couple of years and assess its further potential. Score - 88.
