Description
Though the flavours and aromas described by James Suckling in his 1989 review will have matured and developed, this 1963 is in superb shape and continuing to evolve. Classically, as Port ages, fresh fruit aromas will evolve into dried fruit characters, for example.
Tasting Notes
This is the best Delaforce in three decades. It is a massive monster. Deep red-ruby color, with a wonderfully rich blackberry nose, full-bodied, with enough tannins to hold together tons of superb fruit. Will continue to improve. Score - 93. (James Suckling, winespectator.com, Web Only, 1989)
