Tasting Notes
This Merlot-centric wine opens with a cascade of aromas such as cocoa, raspberry, cherry, pomegranate, woodsmoke, smoked meat, and roasted red pepper. Dry, quite fruity and smoky with moderate tannins and gentle acidity for balance. Very pure mid-palate which leads to a medium-long finish. Cellar it 2-4 years, or enjoy it tonight with grilled lamb chops or game meats. (VINTAGES panel, July 2011)
