Tasting Notes
Deep damson and plum compote, stewed with the stones in -that's not to say the fruit is cooked here, it's extremely bright and vivid, with piercing acidity that seems a little overly accentuated. It has a long finish with discrete structural tannins and a high-toned menthol and rosemary line bringing complexity and aromatic freshness. The alcohol is high but not unbalanced, counteracted by a mineral dimension. It's not cheap perhaps, but nonetheless a good-value pick. Organically grown on the limestone soils of lieu-dit Palestor, this is a blend of different parcels of 50-year-old vines. Drinking window: 2021-2029. Score - 95.
