Carol's Vineyard is named for Jerry Lohr's late wife and is blessed with climatic conditions and loam- and gravel-rich soils that are relatively similar to those found in Bordeaux. This makes the Paso-Robles-based Lohr family's Napa property particularly attractive to Cabernet Sauvignon. This Cab is always classically styled, with excellent character and a complex array of cassis and dark fruit tones. The 2013 will reflect the even greater concentration imparted upon the vintage by California's ongoing drought conditions. Cellar this for up to 5 years or enjoy with grilled beef or lamb.
