Tasting Notes
The 2008 Monte Toro Roble is 100% Tinta de Toro [aka, Tempranillo] sourced from 30-year-old vines which spent 6 months in French and American oak. Purple/black colored, it offers up a compelling nose of mineral, espresso, tar, black cherry and blackberry that belies its humble price. Dense, structured, and voluminous on the palate, this full-flavored, lengthy effort over-delivers in a big way. It is a great value. Score - 89. (Jay Miller, erobertparker.com, April 2010)
