This wine won a Gold Medal at the 2010 Concours des Grands vins du Languedoc-Roussillon.
Tasting Notes
Minervois was granted appellation status in 1985, but archaeological evidence suggests that wines have been produced in the area since the Roman period. In fact Cicero, 106 BC - 43 BC, makes mention of wines from the area being sent to Rome. This 2007 version is very pretty, with plum, cassis oak and lifted floral aromas. The palate is dry and round with more cassis and floral elements, plus an oaky mid-palate. Very tasty. Perfect with a nice beef stew on a cool Fall evening. (VINTAGES panel, April 2011)
