Description
The dark-skinned Aglianico grape is noted for producing full-bodied, highly tannic and ageable wines in Campania, earning it the moniker 'the Barolo of the south'. In Puglia, the grape produces high-quality wines in a style that is accessible much younger. These wines also offer incredible value.
Tasting Notes
Complex and layered aromas of plum, earth, tar, black cherry, vanilla and smoke. The palate offers notes of earth, ripe black fruits, spice and soft vanilla. The tannins are soft and silky and beautifully integrated. A lovely wine. (VINTAGES panel, Feb. 2013)
