Tasting Notes
Vin Santo can be a magical wine. Once fermented, the wines are transferred to barrel. They are then aged for many years, untouched, resulting in evaporation and oxidation. The finished wines can come out of the barrel dry, sweet or anything in between. This version is the latter (in between). Aromas of peach, raisin, orange marmalade and pecan pie dominate. Moderately sweet with good structure, and medium-full bodied with a long, balanced finish. Enjoy with a fruit custard or other not-too-sweet desserts. (VINTAGES panel, July 2011)
