The 2009 Chassagne-Montrachet Clos Saint Jean is a striking wine that brings together all of the elements of the house style and the year. Freshly cut flowers, pears, apricots and a subtle vein of French oak are all woven together gracefully in this poised, nuanced wine. The combination of energy and understated richness is undeniably appealing. Layers of fruit build to a generous, creamy finish buffered by lively acidity. Anticipated maturity: 2012+. Score - 93.
