Description
TASTING NOTE: The 2007 Felix Blend is composed of 80% Malbec and 20% Tannat, a grape which thrives in Cafayate. The Malbec was sourced from 50-year-old vines and the Tannat from 100-year-old vines with tiny yields of 3 tons per hectare. It spent 24 months in barrel and 24 months in bottle prior to release. A glass-coating purple/black color, it offers up a bouquet reminiscent of Barolo road tar along with elements of rose petal, exotic spices, licorice, truffle, and black cherry. Dense, concentrated, and incipiently complex, it will reward another 3-4 years of cellaring and will be at its best from 2015 to 2027. Score: 91 (Jay Miller, erobertparker.com, Dec. 2011)
