Description
Gambero Rosso in their 2012 edition awarded this wine Two Glasses (out of 3), which is its 'very good to excellent' rating. Barbera d'Asti was awarded its DOCG in 2008. The wine must be 85% Barbera, with the rest made up of Freisa, Grignolino or Dolcetto. To be a Superiore, it must be aged at least one year in the winery (six months of which must be in oak or chestnut), and exhibit a higher natural alcohol by volume than the regular Barbera d'Asti. Look for blackberry, pomegranate and spring flower aromas and flavours. Enjoy this fresh, vibrant wine with grilled lamb chops.
