Coming from an 8-10 year old hillside vineyard, the 2008 Raupo Pinot Noir was matured 15 months in French barrique, 30% new. Medium ruby colored, it's a little mute offering subtle notes of black cherry, tree bark and little smoked game. The medium bodied palate has great fruit concentration and lots of layers, some earthy, others fruity, with a good backbone of high acid and medium-firm fine tannins, finishing long. Score - 93.
