Tasting Notes
An excellent value, this Sangiovese from the coast is ruby in colour with a savoury nose featuring redcurrant, plum, sour cherry, smoke and underbrush. It's dry, medium bodied with a soft fleshy texture and a ripe core of fruit backed by zesty acidity and medium tannins. It seems pleasantly simple at the start but the finish is long and complex with some structured grip. Cherry, plum, charred wood and a fresh herbal note play out on the long finish. Should mature nicely over the next 3-4 years. (VINTAGES panel, July 2012)
