Description
Now family owned, this 100-year-old property is situated at an altitude of nearly 2,300 feet and has many vines that are in excess of 50 years old. Irrigated by melting snow from the Andes, the varied elevations and mesoclimates allow for the cultivation of terroir-driven Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Bonarda, Syrah, Torrontés, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. This Malbec is a great value and will offer spicy black fruit notes in an easy-drinking style.
Tasting Notes
The 2010 Juana de Sol Malbec Reserva was aged for 6 months in French oak. It is a glass-coating opaque purple color with an alluring bouquet of cedar, Asian spices, red licorice, and black cherry. Spicy, ripe, and nicely proportioned, this pleasure-bent Malbec will drink nicely over the next 5-6 years. It is an outstanding value. Score - 90. (Jay Miller, erobertparker.com, Dec. 2011)
