Tasting Notes
This is a lovely complex, quite rounded chardonnay with nifty peach fruit, floral notes, almond/marzipan, peat smoke and butterscotch sweetness. Stylistically its mindful of Chassagne-Montrachet in Burgundy. It's medium full bodied, rich, smooth and elegant with a sense of ease that almost belies its depth. Classy and classic flavours linger to excellent length. There is some minerality on the finish. Score - 93. (David Lawrason, winealign.com, Dec. 2011)
