Tasting Notes
The 2008 Caldera is a blend of 50% Grenache (68-70 year old bush vines), 25% Shiraz and 25% Mourvedre aged in old wooden 225-liter barrels. It displays fresh blackberry, raspberry and white pepper on the nose that displays fine delineation, and the palate is generous on the entry, with peppery dark berries and a touch of game that leads to a dry, grainy, meaty finish that is very satisfying.
