Costi�res de N�mes is the southernmost wine-producing region in the Rh�ne Valley and enjoys more than 2,700 hours of sunshine - a leading factor in the noted ripe fruit character of the region's wines.
Tasting Notes
Made with the goal of producing a forward, fruit-driven wine, the 2013 Costi�res de Nimes is made from 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah that was mostly destemmed and aged mostly in concrete tanks (a small part of the Syrah was in older barrel). Beautifully Proven�al with lots of garrigue, peppery spice, black cherry, and licorice aromas and flavors, it's medium-bodied, tight, and surprisingly closed on the palate with bright acidity and a clean, classy feel on the finish. I suspect it will be better this time next year and drink nicely through 2020. Superstar consultant Philippe Cambie's own label, these latest releases all have beautiful purity of fruit and voluptuous textures. Score - 88. (Jeb Dunnuck, erobertparker.com, Oct. 2015)
