Tasting Notes
This is a blend of cabernet sauvignon (55%) and syrah (45%); there's no cabernet franc as in earlier vintages. There's a lot going on in the bottle, with each variety contributing characteristically to the blend. Look for layered and dynamic complexity, an excellent balance of fruit and acid, and ripe, supple tannins. It's medium-plus in body, and carries its weight easily. You can drink this now, but it's evolving nicely and 2017-18 would be an excellent drinking window. Score - 4 1/2 out of 5 Stars. (Rod Phillips, rodphillipsonwine.com, Jan. 2016)
