Tasting Notes
The 2006 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Vigna Castel caresses the palate with dark fruit chocolate, spices and licorice. It is a bit plusher and deeper than the Punta di Villa. The wine freshens up nicely in the glass, as the initially reticent bouquet becomes expressive. I would prefer to enjoy this juicy, forward Amarone sooner rather than later.
