Description
TASTING NOTE: Vinification and aging in oak seems to work much better in the 2011 Chablis Fourchaume Les Vaupulans, which I tasted from barrel. It is easily the most vivid and complete of Guillaume Vrignaud's 2011s. The Vaupulans shows off wonderful detail and nuance. Rich succulent peaches, apricots and flowers are given an extra dimension of textural richness from the French oak. Following the 2010 is no easy task, but the 2011 is more than a worthy successor. Guillaume Vrignaud aged 30% of Vaupulans in oak. Anticipated maturity: 2013+. Score: 91-93 (Antonio Galloni, erobertparker.com, Aug. 2012)
