Description
Syrah is a varietal that is creating some considerable excitement in Chile, with the best examples demonstrating particular poise and balance along with great complexity and depth of flavour. This example will offer rich dark fruit notes with black pepper spice. It will be a fine match for grilled red meats.
Tasting Notes
Although it sounds like it could be a lyric from the song 'Lady Marmalade,' Chocal�n is, in fact, the name of this Chilean winery. This is a solidly built wine offering lots of nice dark fruit and spice character with a structured finish. The Syrah here is backed by 8% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Viognier.
