The only white, and a blend of equal parts Roussanne, Grenache Blanc and Viognier, the 2011 High On The Hog was brought up almost all in stainless steel (5% in barrel) with roughly 50% of the blend going through malolactic fermentation. Beautifully fresh, pure and elegant, it has notions of juiced pear, dried pineapple, mineral and toasted nuts as well as juicy acidity balancing out the inherent richness of the varieties. Borderline outstanding, it's a great value and worthy of a case purchase for mid-week drinking over the coming year or two. Drink now. Score - 89. (Jeb Dunnuck, erobertparker.com, Aug. 2013)
