In Piedmont, Nebbiolo is responsible for some of Italy's most famous wines, including Barolo. Nebbiolo is a late-ripening grape that creates wines of great freshness and structure that can age marvellously. It's a difficult grape to master, but Fontanafredda has been producing benchmark expressions of these wines for more than 155 years. This will be floral, with red fruit and good harmony and balance, bright acidity and firm tannins.

Tasting Notes
The wine is fermented in steel casks and then ages in wood. When drunk early this Nebbiolo has a velvety texture, and as it ages (it reaches its maximum potential at between three and four years old) it takes on flowery aromas.
