Tasting Notes
The Tawse Estate chardonnay is a blend of of grapes from the Robyn's Block, Quarry Road and Hillside vineyards, all certified biodynamic. The style has been growing more refined and precise with each passing vintage, and the 2011 nicely captures the freshness of the growing season. It's a touch less rich and intense than the excellent 2010, but this will appeal to purists - wood influence is very modest - and this is focused on lively citrus and green apple flavours. I suspect it will flesh out with a little more bottle age, so for maximum enjoyment revisit this in another six months to a year. I appreciate the lingering, sapid finish - this is very fine.
