Here is a spectacular way to celebrate a milestone or anniversary. Montilla-Moriles specializes in wine styles similar to those of Jerez (Sherry), but is situated inland of its spirit-twin. It's also the region that produces most of Spain's Pedro Ximénez, the grape used here as well as in Jerez to produce famously long-lived, sweet and rich fortified wines. When our Vintages buyers discovered this winery had only one barrel of this 1967 PX, they bought all of it. Each of the five local wine writers who've reviewed it thus far - Tony Aspler (97 points), David Lawrason (98), John Szabo MS (97), Michael Godel (97) and Carolyn Hammond (96) - awarded it ratings of 96 points or above.
