The Pinots of Santenay are typically more rustic and deeply coloured than those from sites further north. This is due in great part to the richer ratio of marl soils found here, as compared to elsewhere in the C�te d'Or, and to the precisely controlled ageing regime employed by Drouhin that helps to emphasize an elegance and refinement in the final wines.
