Tasting Notes
This is refined, pure scented cabernet with perfectly ripened black cherry/currant fruit nicely framed by gentle tarry, smoky oak and chocolate. It's medium-full bodied, youthfully firm but it also so packs gentle fruit that echoes a very long time. There is some gritty tannin and typical cabernet earthiness on the finish. The length is excellent. A very well made wine - textbook California cabernet from the warm, stony hillsides above the Alexander Valley. Best in another year or two - should age through 2020.
