Description
Although it doesn't say so on the front label (the team at Zolo being masters of understatement), this wine is sourced from a single vineyard in the Tupungato zone of Mendoza at an elevation of 1,350 metres above sea level. It spends over a year in French oak, adding vanilla and toasty shading to a core of rich dark fruit.
Tasting Notes
Aromas of blackberry and briar patch expand to include violet notes. In the mouth, there's pulpy weight to the fruit and rubbery tannins for framing. Rugged but generic black-fruit flavors finish with toasty darkness and some burn. Score - 88. (Michael Schachner, Wine Enthusiast, Oct. 2016)
