Description

Able to thrive in cool climates such as Ontario, Foch (aka Maréchal Foch) can produce fully ripe, well-structured reds. This hybrid grape (as well as Baco Noir) helped prove Ontario's mettle as a region capable of serious red wines. Perennially built upon a foundation of dark berry fruit, earth and smoke notes, this concentrated and intense version from Malivoire may be the grape's ultimate expression. 'Albert's Honour' is a tribute to Martin Malivoire's great-uncle, who was awarded the French Legion of Honour medal for heroism in World War I.

Tasting Notes

This tribute to Martin Malivoire's great uncle, who was awarded the French Legion of Honour medal for heroism in World War I, is both a Malivoire speciality and considered by many to be the grape's ultimate expression. Intensely aromatic, evoking a walk in the forest and offering complex aromas of berries and earth. Ripe dark fruit and plum on the palate. Just great. Enjoy with something meaty and braised.
