Tasting Notes
Nero d'Avola, indigenous to Sicilia, makes a deep purple, weighty and brooding wine that glints with dark cherry and wafts with minerals; in its Nero di Lupo, COS turns that grape into something that's magical. Leather, underbrush, espresso and spices frame the juicy red and brambly black fruits. Balancing its lushness with chewy tannins and a serious core of minerality, this wine glides across the palate with feral grace. An ideal companion to grilled lamb or hearty stews, this organic Nero d'Avola ferments with natural yeasts and ages in cement; it'll drink for the next five years, if not longer.
