Tasting Notes
This deep and concentrated wine is developing nicely, and is very intriguing at this stage. Big, rich, complex aromas of black cherry, blackberry, pie crust, woodsmoke, black olive and leather urge you to slow down and explore the nuance here. Dry, medium-full bodied and mouthfilling with a creamy texture and velvety tannins. Long, lingering finish. This appealing wine should develop for a further 3-5 years, and is drinking well now with blackened beef or char-grilled gourmet burgers. (VINTAGES panel, July 2011)
