Description
Grape growers in the River Junction area since 1938, the McManis family began to make their own wines in 1990. Their rapid rise and recognition made it possible for them to install a state-of-the-art winery in 1997. Their Syrah is typically soft, balanced and juicy, with bright notes of black and blue fruit with spice and oak notes in support - a welcome addition to grilled fare or pork roast.
Tasting Notes
From a perennial favourite, the 2011 delivers rich aromas of black fruit, woodsmoke and pepper. The palate is juicy, soft and seductive with a velvet mouth-feel and lovely balance. Weighty and jam-packed with flavour. Enjoy with pasta bolognese or pepper steaks. (VINTAGES panel, July 2013)
