Tasting Notes
Castello di Verrazzano owner Luigi Capellini mischievously labeled this wine mini-Tuscan when it was first released in 2000, in contrast to expensive 'Super-Tuscans' produced in the region. This is predominantly Sangiovese with a bit of Merlot aged in large oak barrels for about 10 months. Light ruby red colour, with an intense red berry fruit nose and hints of dried herbs. Very well-balanced on the palate, round, medium bodied with pleasant hints of fruit.
