Tasting Notes

The 2006 Chianti Classico Riserva Campo Cerchi comes across as tightly wound and youthful. It has plenty of power in reserve, but today the Campo Cerchi needs time in the bottle for the firm tannins to soften. Hints of menthol, spices, flowers, minerals and new leather add complexity to a core of vibrant dark red fruit. The Campo Cerchi is made from the estate's best fruit grown in high altitude vineyards, which contributes to the wine's sternness at this early stage. The clarity, finesse and sheer purity of the fruit bode well for a fabulous future. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2026. Score - 92+. (Antonio Galloni, erobertparker.com, Oct. 2010)
