Description
Writing in the Wine Spectator in April 1997, James Suckling was greatly impressed by this Port, awarding it 96 points and calling it the '[g]reatest Vesuvio this century.'
Tasting Notes
Spicy nose and amazingly sweet on the palate -- quite treacley. Some tar too. Lots of potential with macerated raisin flavours. Lots of acidity! I seriously misjudged this wine in a big port tasting four years ago. Drink 2010 to 2030. Score - 18.5 (out of 20). (Jancis Robinson, MW, jancisrobinson.com, July 29, 2009)
