Tasting Notes
Bright, dark red. Strong spicy lift to the aromas of raspberry and licorice. At once dense and vinous, offering noteworthy spicy depth to its flavors of raspberry, cassis and pepper. Perhaps a bit less sweet and complex than the Old Bones Syrah but less backward today. Finishes broad and long, with serious palate-dusting tannins spreading out horizontally to saturate the mouth. (14.5% alcohol; like the Heart Syrah, this wine was made from the north block of Stoneridge vineyard; vinified with 150% stems, as winemaker Leighton took the stems from the Heart cuv�e and added them to this wine).
