Tasting Notes
The 2017 Single Wheel Riesling is just a bit off-dry with 12 grams of sugar, 7.3 of total acidity and 12.4% alcohol. The name references a single-vineyard Riesling from selected rows on a single block (using clone 90) of the winery's estate vines. This is in fine balance, the sugar countered easily by the acidity. Indeed, the power on the wine is the most memorable impression. It has a long and tense finish that is filled with flavor, and yes, just a touch of sugar every now and then. As this young Riesling ages, my prediction is that it will seem perceptibly drier. Drink date: 2019-2031. Score - 90. (Mark Squires, robertparker.com, June 28, 2019)
